Evaluation Consultant (Paint the Change)

We are a London-based news and production company with a portfolio of projects that promote freedom of expression, human rights and social justice.

Over the next two years, with partners in Greece and Serbia, we will be delivering a project aimed at engaging young, difficult to reach audiences with street art and promotion of diversity, inclusion and tolerance. The project will develop a curriculum, produce a set of prominent street art pieces and a documentary film.

Role description

We are seeking an experienced Evaluation Consultant (Paint the Change) to design the monitoring and evaluation methodology for this project, develop data gathering tools and advise on their deployment so that robust data is produced. The Evaluation Consultant will also help collate and analyse data. They will report to the Project Manager and work closely with colleagues delivering the project in London, Athens and Belgrade.

Key tasks

  • Working with the project team members in London, Belgrade and Athens, flesh out the outcomes from the project’s logical framework, and design monitoring & evaluation methodology and plan.

  • Design data gathering tools and systems and, as appropriate, develop clear written questionnaire and interview topic guides and outcomes / data recording frameworks for team members who may be involved in primary data gathering.

  • Advise the delivery teams to ensure data is managed in a way that meets regulatory requirements and enables robust reporting.

  • Collate and analyse data, write up reports to inform further improvements to the curriculum and programme activities, and support project reporting and business development.

Essential skills and attributes 

· Strong knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods, and ability to apply them.

· Experience of evaluation methodology, such as theory of change, logic models, evaluation frameworks etc.

· Proven track record of undertaking research which has informed practice development.

Desirable attributes

  • Experience in the youth or education sectors.

  • Experience of cross-border collaborations and ability to work across cultures.

  • Experience of using high quality research and evidence to help shape campaigns/influencing work.
